Humidor Nero Portoro Oro for Lacquered Bar Cabinet

Price: €4.990,00 Regular price:

Nero Portoro Oro is a rare black marble threaded with striking gold veins, adding a note of warmth to an otherwise dark, dramatic material. Here it forms the humidor insert designed to pair with the Litolite Lacquered Bar Cabinet, though it stands beautifully on its own too.

The most demanding stone we cut

Portoro has been quarried in Liguria since Roman times and has always been treated as a precious material rather than a building one. Its gold veining runs in defined bands, which means a block has to be read and cut along the grain of the veins rather than simply sliced — get it wrong and the pattern breaks across a face. It is the slowest marble in the collection to work and the least forgiving.

Humidification without upkeep

Humidity is managed by Boveda packs, a two-way system that releases moisture as the interior dries and reabsorbs it when the level climbs, holding a steady figure rather than swinging. No distilled water, no sponge to maintain: replace the packs when they begin to stiffen, typically every two to four months. An automatic ventilation system keeps the humidity uniform through the whole interior, and internal LED lighting makes the gold veining read properly — which, in a dark stone, it otherwise would not.

Capacity, placement, care

The 150+ capacity is measured on a standard Robusto and varies with ring gauge. The drawer fronts are solid oak rather than veneered panel, so they stay flat against the humidity differential across the face. Keep the humidor below roughly 21 °C and away from direct sun and radiators — above about 24 °C tobacco beetle eggs can hatch inside a cigar. Clean with a soft, barely damp cloth: never use acidic or limescale products on polished marble, which they etch permanently.
