Bocote is a fine tropical hardwood, prized for its dramatic grain ranging from warm yellow to deep brown. Scaled down to desk size, this humidor brings the same material presence as its larger siblings to a smaller footprint, built for a desk, a shelf, or a favourite corner of the room.

The size most people underestimate

Eighty cigars sounds like plenty until you own a humidor. It is the right size for someone who smokes regularly and keeps two or three boxes moving, rather than a cellar of stock laid down to age. It is also the size most buyers wish they had gone beyond a year later, once the habit of keeping something special in reserve has taken hold.

The system inside

Humidification is by Boveda, a two-way system that releases moisture when the interior dries and reabsorbs it when the level climbs, so the humidity holds flat rather than cycling. There is no distilled water and no sponge to clean: the packs are swapped when they begin to stiffen, typically every two to four months. The Diamond opens from the front on a drawer cut from solid oak, running on a Blumotion soft-close mechanism rather than lifting on a hinge. A lid humidor loses most of its conditioned air in one movement, while a drawer keeps the majority of it where it belongs. Solid timber rather than veneered panel also means the front will not lift or bubble over years of humid air on one face and dry room air on the other.

Capacity and care

The 80-cigar figure is measured on a standard Toro, around 90 Robusto; Churchills and larger ring gauges bring it down, slimmer vitolas bring it up. Keep the humidor below roughly 21 °C and out of direct sun. Above about 24 °C the eggs of the tobacco beetle can hatch inside a cigar, which is the one failure that costs a whole box. The wood needs nothing more than an occasional dry cloth, with no polish and no solvents.

How many cigars does it hold?
It holds around 80 Toro cigars (roughly 90 Robusto), measured on a Toro and shifting with ring gauge. Slimmer vitolas raise the number; thick ring gauges lower it.

Do I need to add water?
No. Humidity is managed by two-way Boveda packs, so there is no reservoir to fill. You simply replace the packs when they stiffen, typically every two to four months.
