White ebony is one of the rarer members of the ebony family. Where most ebony is prized for being nearly black, this variety is known for the opposite, a pale, cream-white body threaded with dark, contrasting streaks. This desk-sized humidor puts that rare material on full display.

A pale humidor is an unusual object

Almost every humidor ever made is dark, because the woods the trade has always reached for are dark. White ebony breaks that convention without leaving the family: it is still a true ebony, still dense and hard, but it reads light in a room instead of heavy. In a pale interior it settles into the furniture; in a dark one it becomes the object everyone asks about.

The system inside

The interior is lined in Okoumé, as on every Litolite humidor. Humidification is by Boveda, two-way packs that release moisture when the interior dries and reabsorb it when the level rises, so the humidity holds flat rather than cycling. There is nothing to fill and nothing to calibrate: the packs are replaced when they stiffen, typically every two to four months. The Diamond opens from the front on a drawer cut from solid oak, on a Blumotion soft-close mechanism. The difference from a hinged lid is not cosmetic, because lifting a lid empties most of the conditioned air in a single movement, while a drawer retains the bulk of it and the interior returns to working humidity in minutes rather than hours. Solid timber rather than veneer also keeps the front flat over years of humid air on one face and dry room air on the other.

Capacity and care

The 80-cigar capacity is measured on a standard Toro, around 90 Robusto, and moves with ring gauge. Keep the humidor below roughly 21 °C and out of direct sunlight. Above about 24 °C tobacco beetle eggs can hatch inside a cigar, which is the one failure that costs a whole box. A dry cloth is all the wood asks for, with no polish and no solvents.

How many cigars does it hold?
It holds around 80 Toro cigars (roughly 90 Robusto), measured on a Toro and shifting with ring gauge. Slimmer vitolas raise the number; thick ring gauges lower it.

Do I need to add water?
No. Humidity is managed by two-way Boveda packs, so there is no reservoir to fill. You simply replace the packs when they stiffen, typically every two to four months.
