Bocote is a fine tropical hardwood valued for its dramatic grain, ranging from warm yellow to deep brown, and for its natural durability. Sourced from responsibly managed forests, it forms the humidor insert designed to pair with the Litolite Lacquered Bar Cabinet, though it stands beautifully on its own too.

Sized for a collection, not for a desk

The stated capacity of 150+ is measured on a standard Robusto. Larger ring gauges bring the count down, while Coronas and Panetelas bring it up. At this volume the humidor holds what you are ageing alongside what you are smoking this month, which is the point at which a desk box stops being enough. The drawer fronts are cut from solid oak rather than veneered panel, so they stay flat over years of humid air on one face and dry room air on the other.

The system inside

Humidification runs on Boveda packs, which work in two directions, releasing moisture when the interior dries and absorbing it when the level climbs, so the humidity holds steady instead of cycling. There is no distilled water to top up and no sponge to clean: you replace the packs when they begin to stiffen, typically every two to four months depending on how often the door is opened. An automatic ventilation system circulates that humidity so the cigars at the back sit in the same air as the ones at the front, and internal LED lighting turns the interior into a display the moment it opens.

Capacity and care

Keep the humidor below roughly 21 °C and out of direct sun. Above about 24 °C the eggs of the tobacco beetle can hatch inside a cigar, which is the one failure that costs you a whole box, so avoid siting it against a radiator or an exterior wall that warms up in the afternoon. The wood itself asks for nothing beyond an occasional wipe with a dry cloth, with no solvents and no polish.
