Table Lighter Nero Marquina

Nero Marquina is a deep black marble quarried in northern Spain, prized since the early 20th century for the fine white veining that runs through its dark body. It was a favourite of Art Deco designers and remains a benchmark material for bold, contemporary interiors today. This table lighter puts that same striking stone to work at desk scale.

The flame

Inside sits a Vector KGM triple-flame torch insert, a butane burner that fires three angled jets into a single concentrated cone. It lights broad and even across the foot of a cigar, so a ring gauge toasts uniformly rather than scorching at one edge, and the jet flame holds steady outdoors where a soft flame would not. A hinged cap lifts to fire the burner, the flame height is set with a rotary adjuster, and the tank refills from the base with premium refined butane.

The scale is deliberate. A cigar wants to be lit slowly, turned above the flame rather than pushed into it, and that is far easier with a lighter heavy enough to stay put, here 2.5 kg of solid marble.

Care

Clean the marble with a soft, barely damp cloth only: acidic and limescale products etch polished stone permanently. Bleed the tank and refill with premium butane only, and allow the insert a moment to reach temperature after filling before lighting.
