Why humidity drifts inside a sealed box
A humidor is a small sealed climate, and like any climate it is not naturally uniform. Moisture is released from one area, usually where the humidity packs sit, and it has to travel to reach the far end. In a compact desk humidor the distance is short and the air settles quickly. In a cabinet approaching 70 cm, a gradient forms: one end reads correctly while the other slowly dries or over-humidifies. Left alone, that difference is enough to age two identical cigars at two different rates.
How dynamic circulation works
Our larger models add low-RPM fans that gently move air through the whole chamber. Once a day, the system circulates the humidity produced by the Boveda packs across every shelf, erasing the gradient before it can form. The movement is deliberately slow and silent: enough to keep the interior uniform, never enough to dry the wrappers or disturb the ash-fine balance tobacco needs. The result is a single, stable microclimate rather than a patchwork of zones.

Static or dynamic: which do you need?
Not every humidor needs fans. On a desk-scale piece, a static two-way pack system is simple, reliable and completely sufficient, which is why our Diamond Small models use it. Dynamic circulation earns its place once volume grows and distance becomes the enemy of uniformity. As a rule of thumb: choose static for a personal desk humidor, and dynamic once you are storing a serious, cabinet-scale collection.
No water, no noise, no maintenance
Dynamic control does not mean complication. There is no distilled water, no sponge, and no calibration. You replace the Boveda packs when they begin to stiffen, typically every two to four months, and that is the whole routine. The technology stays concealed so the piece still reads as fine furniture, not an appliance.
