Litolite: Italian Atelier for Humidors, Cigar Accessories and Bespoke Cabinets

Litolite is an Italian atelier in Bassano del Grappa that designs and makes humidors, cigar accessories and bespoke cabinets in marble and fine wood. We began in 2015 with humidors, and today our work runs from a marble ashtray or a table lighter to a made-to-measure cabinet for a private home or a hotel, and to a walk-in room for wine and cigars. This is who we are, what we make, and how a project goes from your first message to the day it arrives.

Who we are

We are a workshop of makers. Our roots are in stone: the family tradition behind Litolite goes back to a master Italian stonemason, and that respect for material shapes every piece we build. Today it sits alongside modern technology, so that the oldest techniques, such as splitting an edge by hand, meet the precision of a five-axis machine. The result is objects that are contemporary in design and lasting in construction.

What we make

Range What it includes
Humidors Diamond drawer humidors in marble or exotic wood, with Boveda humidity control, soft-close drawers and, on the Large, LED lighting and dual-fan airflow
Cigar accessories Hand-split marble ashtrays, triple-flame table lighters in marble and fine wood, limited editions
Bespoke furniture Cabinets and bars for wine, spirits and cigars, and walk-in rooms, for private homes and hospitality

You can explore the luxury humidors, the marble ashtrays and the table lighters in the shop, or go straight to our bespoke cabinets. For a closer look at the humidors and the woods behind them, read about Italian luxury humidors.

How we work, from first message to delivery

Every project follows the same four steps, whether it is a single piece or a whole room.

1. We study your request

We start by listening. Where will the piece live, who will use it, what must it hold, and what should it feel like? For a cabinet or a room we ask for the space (width, depth, height), a plan or photographs, and your timeline. A reference image helps, but it is not necessary: the aim is to understand the brief properly before anything is drawn.

2. Tailored drawings and renders, with a quotation

Next we prepare drawings and 3D renders made specifically for you, so that you can see the proportions, materials and finishes before anything is cut. Together with the design you receive a detailed quotation. Changes are made at this stage, on screen, where they are easy.

3. Everything made in our own atelier

Once the design is approved, the work is done under one roof, in Italy:

  • five-axis CNC machining on our own machines, for precise and complex shapes in wood and stone
  • veneering, for continuous grain across large surfaces
  • solid wood working, from the carcass to the finest details
  • lacquering and brushing, for finishes from deep matt to high gloss
  • assembly and final inspection, by hand

Keeping every stage in the same atelier means one standard from the first cut to the last polish, and a single team that answers for the result.

4. Shipping worldwide

Each piece is carefully packed and insured, and we ship to clients all over the world.

A modern atelier, built for precision

We are a modern, technology-led workshop. Our five-axis CNC machining lets us cut organic forms, fine joints and internal details that are not possible by hand alone, and our 3D design turns a client's idea into an exact model before production starts. Precision matters most in the objects we make: a humidor must seal perfectly, a drawer must run silently, a marble top must meet a lacquered door without a visible gap. That level of accuracy comes from good machines in careful hands. Read more in how a luxury humidor is made in Italy, and for the technology behind our larger humidors, see dynamic humidity control.

A wide choice of materials, from veneer to solid wood and stone

Materials are where a piece gets its character, and we work with a wide range. In wood, we use veneers and solid timber, including rare and exotic species such as Ziricote, Tamo, white ebony and Bocote, with stable okoumé for the interior of our humidors. In stone, we cut marbles such as Nero Portoro, Nero Marquina, Calacatta Oro, Carrara and Port Saint Laurent. Each material is natural, so each piece carries its own grain and veining, and no two are ever identical. If you want to know more, our guide to exotic woods and rare marbles goes through them one by one, and you can read about Nero Portoro and Calacatta Oro in detail.

Sartorial design: made to measure, not taken off the shelf

We think of our work the way a tailor thinks of a suit. It is cut to a person and a place, not to a catalogue size. A bespoke cabinet begins with the room it will stand in, the bottles and cigars it must hold, the light it will sit in and the people who will use it. The humidor drawer, the glass shelving, the lighting and the finish are all decided around those facts. For private homes this can mean a bar cabinet for wine and spirits with a sealed humidor drawer built in. For hotels and restaurants it can mean a lounge cabinet or a display piece designed around the venue. For a larger space it can mean a walk-in room for wine and cigars, with its own climate control.

If you are weighing up a project, our guides explain the details: how to plan a walk-in humidor room, custom cigar cabinets for hotels, restaurants and design projects, and our cigar pairing guide, which shows how bottles and cigars can live together.
